Roger and Bonnie Aimes - Hawaii Kai, Oahu
Yes, we will travel to build features, though most of our features are on Maui. Roger and Bonnie had a courtyard area below their main kitchen level that wasn't being used. They had a view of the ocean from the kitchen patio, so we created this view looking the other way. You can see the outline of the pond before digging.

The waterfalls have lights, so the water glitters at night. The pond also has a couple of submersible lights so the whole area glows.
Wailuku Country Estates (February 2010)
These homes on two acres or more have ample area to build a sizeable feature. This feature below gives a focal point of waterfalls, streams, and colorful landscaping. The feature is pondless, so it requires little maintenance. The waterfall is turned on by a remote control buttom

Tom Rixey
Tom builds multi-million dollar homes on Maui. He wanted this feature to use natural rock and have the gentle sound of 3 waterfalls and two small holding ponds to greet visitors as they walked to the front door.  The waterfeature separates the main house from the Ohana

A sprinkler system was installed along the perimeter so the pond became a lush jungle of vegetation
The stream, on right above, used natural rock waterfalls to have a pleasing and realistic waterfall effect. The pond, on left above, was filled with fish, water lillies, and other aquatic plants.  The whole feature was planted with lush vegetation to get a jungle effect. What was once a sand desert is now a tropical jungle alive with fish and plant life.

Ron and Judy Brown
Ke Allii Kai subdivision in Kihei

Ron and Judy had a small 9 foot area between their patio and white dividing fence.  They wanted a peaceful setting where they could sit or entertain.  A small pond with a long stream and two separate waterfalls provided a cooling, calming, and refreshing addition to their beautiful home.

Bill Revis - Kahakaloa
Bill had a turn around drive way in the front of his beautiful new home in Kahakaloa.  We tried to create a focal point that was functional for landscaping and aethetic for fish and plants.

After digging a large 22 x 12 foot pond the dirt was mounded up and sculpted to hold vegetation with the existing clay rocks he had on his property.  The pond, inself, was lined with 45 mil EPDM liner,  stacked with Maalaea river rock, covered with 2 inches of cinder.  All of this rock surface helps to grow bacteria that is healthy for the pond.

Below, after completing the feature the owner landscaped the areas we left to give the feature a tropical appearance. This vegetation will improve the appearance with time. Water lillies and koi were added to complete the eco-cycle.

Maui Meadows

The owner has a magnificent view of Molokini and Lanai, but now he has a restful area of the kitchen porch area to read the paper and entertain friends.  The pond is alive with fish and plants and the sound of water is soothing and restful.

We added plants and fish to complete the eco-system

The vegetation can get out of hand, so we offer a maintenance contract to make sure the fish and plants stay healthy and beautiful.  Here's what happens when the landscaping gets away
Fortunately we were able to cure this.  We'd much prefer to have the problem of too many fish and too much plant growth than the opposite!
